Let them be them.

Spring is here! Kind of? It seem that we often go through "fake spring" in Northern Virginia and the surrounding cities. One day it would be 75 and beautiful for the next day to dip down to 40 degrees and dreary.

Spring time is a beautiful time. Flowers are blooming, the birds are chirping, the sun is shining, and it's almost like a new beginning. It's also the time when more and more families decide to have their photos taken!

The best advice I can give families with young children and babies during the photo session is- let them be them.

I often do photoshoots of my own children and have a vision of how I imagine the photos to be. Many families that I work with also has the same ideas which I very much appreciate! Many times though- it doesn't ever end up that way. Either they don't want to go along with it, they are distracted by something else, or whatever it might be. I will do my best to engage and entertain them but if all else fails? Let's have fun with it! Your baby wants to be silly? Let's be silly with them! They want to run around? I will run around and capture their personality and make it an experience that they will enjoy (and for you to enjoy as well!)

This is the period of life where there is so much spontaneity and we will look back and remember all the good times and the more challenging times of being parents.

I want this to be a stress-free or as stress-less experience as it can be for you. Besides capturing your memories and your story, we are here to have fun!

What have some of the photoshoot sessions been like for you? Were they cool and breezy or hectic and stressful? I'd love to hear from you! Comment below!

With gratitude,

ree
